- Learn. Unlearn. Relearn. -
sound familiar? ill get to dat later ba. 1st things 1st HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR EVERY1! =D hope everything is doin well and will only get better for every1. been a long time since we had a long holiday to really relax and catch up with relatives and frens. been a great day so far even though its on repeat every single yr where we do exactly the same stuff and go to the exact same places for visiting but the ppl are always changing and the stuff they do is always changing so theres always something to talk about. coincidentally its valentines day as well so its quite a unique day i must say. but its juz another "friendship" day for blokes(a term i learnt from dis show im watching recently, get to dat later as well) like us. dun have "eh ur fren girl ah?" so we have "friendship" day juz to remind ourselves dat yup ur still single congrats. im not being sarcastic but tink about it rationally it is wad it means rite?
anyway yeah the new show its actually "Carrier" about life on an aircraft carrier throughout a deployment. v interesting and in a way inspiring because now dat im serving the nation like most other guys my age, i get to see how other ppl(americans) serve theirs and its v interesting the way they treat each other and the respect and dedication they have towards their jobs. i mean the show is about the US Navy but here in our little sunny island we can really learn alot from them and u dun even need to be in RSN. both are military organisations, both have rank structures, both have the common goal to defend what is important to each of us. but the way they go about their work is totally different from ours and i tink we have a long way to go ba. its a v short series juz a 10 part series aboard their deployment but it captured probably most if not all aspects of their lifestyle, mindset and what each individuals hope to achieve for dat deployment. anyway i feel its a great show if u are sorta interested in dat kinda documentaries if not Jap anime and US comedies series should be for u.
so wads up with my title rite? well recently ive been inspired but musicians again so i sorta wanna focus more on my own craft. its not v gd but its loads of fun and dats y i spend so much time on it. to be able to play more diff stuff always juz gets me more addicted to it. its exponential seriously if u are v interested in something becoz u wanna play and master so many things at once its like u prac so hard and ur improvement curve juz goes "poof" into the ceiling and not becoming Koko Crunch... ok not funny. yeah den recently been to Drew's house for sailing bbq and realised he printed tabs and put them into a folder to refer to when he prac. dunno y it nv crossed my mind to do dat coz i was always tryin to cram all the bits and pieces of new songs into my head and they nv really stick. dats y i haven been able to improve like alot since how long ago. so now im gonna do it and im gonna start from scratch from the v 1st few songs i started playing with my sticks to the most difficult stuff i cant even play now all gonna be put onto paper. soon ill have my own thick file of archived songs and how to play them. although music is like riding a bike u cant really forget it but its much easier with a hard copy reference when u need it. thus my title =)
almost halfway through my 2 yrs actually. kinda fast with all the muggin and the times spent doin stuff tgt in camp and base so let it go faster. its a great experience and i would hate to go but once is enuf. still young still lots to do juz have fun ba tink so much no use. we all gotta learn when to let go rite? hope i made the rite decision to let go...
P.S. Quote from "Carrier" - "Don't worry about biting off more than you can chew, your mouth is probably a whole lot bigger than you think..."
