- The Time Has Come... -
yup MYEs for me has juz ended today. i tink it was not v gd ba. but den again i hope i dun get any Us esp for econs =X haiz see how lor. anyway dis whole time my mind wasnt really on muggin even though im suppose to be. its on wads goin on the next 4 days.yes the interschools. damn ive been waiting for dis for a long long time liao. after so much has happened the yr b4 its really now or never. last interschools liao. still remember when i was still a small boy and juz learning the sport. its been a long time since ive 1st learned how to do alot of stuff on the boat. its sorta like learning how to walk noe.
u 1st start crawling and all. juz like how u will 1st feel shaky and uncomfortable in a boat the 1st few times u get in 1. doesnt matter wad type of boat u will still feel the same. dat feelin will juz go away and u den start to handle and control it. it will feel damn gd when u start to learn and achieve things u thought u cant.
moving the boat is 1 thing. moving it fast is another thing. dats wad my teacher used to say. but slow and steady wins the race he says. mike in sailing slow and steady confirm last!
anyway to me interschools is the only competition where u see the whole team bond tgt. in other regattas its juz go and gain exp. for interschools every1 is on their toes and all. u see how the juniors seniors teachers all bring about something special which is undescribe-able. through the few teams ive competed with its all the same story.
1 thing dat i shall nv forget though is my primary school days in sailing. wad really got me hooked was seeing the skill shown by seniors and all. i will juz stare at them sailing like they my idol. sadly not many ppl share the same hunger and din continue sailing in sec sch and so on. they were great teammates though and still try to keep in contact with them somehow.
well all in all its my final yr to sail with a team at the interschools liao. rumour says dat dis might be the last interschools for the 'A' div due to decreasing participation. if it is, im glad im a part of it. if its not, its up to us to leave our legacies behind...

- 20th Singapore Laser Trophy -
Final Results:Laser StandardLaser Radial420 Non-spinnakerwoah the 5 day long regatta finally over. din do much muggin over dis period(actually now oso not much =X) cept studyin the course and wind and blah blah blah. all the interschool ppl joined and quite sure most of them understand the lvl of competitiveness dat SIN sailors can bring. din expect dis to be such a big event attracting sailors from various parts of the world. Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand. last yr oso got foreign sailors but din expect dis yr to have such a huge turnout. seems like the racing scene in SIN is growin huh.well tink i can summarise my review.
My Performance(magnitude of position) is directly proportional to the Strength of the wind(magnitude of velocity). see the results and u will see the light. did some of my best and worst races of my whole "career" to date and din manage to convert my best race into a reality, DANG!
simply put there it is. lasers and 420s from mjc did ok ba for dis regatta. although i sucked but nvm. some gd races and bad 1s so overall still ok? dunno lah v subjective. got 1 or 2 ppl nv come for 1st day(4 races) in the end oso can win me in the overall standings. i find it quite err... insulting =X
felt dat i learnt alot about starts and controlled aggressiveness too. yes sailors r aggressive during races u noe. well at least they r supposed to be =X
laser fleets both standards and radials were damn competitive due to the influx of foreign sailors. they gave us SIN sailors a true reminder of how we need to constantly push the lvl of skill and exp to compete fairly with others. 420s were broken up into spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions and the non-spinnaker division which we competed in was great exp for our sailors im sure. esp for some of the newer 1s might be their 1st regatta competing with others. dun worry slow and steady wins the race!
still lackin in areas such as weight and etc. mainly weight. if only...
haiz i tink dis shall be a short review. should end about here and settle other stuff. muggin season begins tmr i guess.
P.S. got dis VJC guy damn attitude with me throughout the whole regatta. liddat u gd. interschool he better watch out. piss me off and ill screw u up for sure dumbass.

- Preparation -
here i go last post b4 my last open regatta den its the interschool liao. tmr marks the start of the Singapore National 420 Championships and Singapore Laser Trophy held on the 4th to 8th June 2008. same as last yr these are 2 regattas which are held concurrently for the 420 and laser classes. 5 days of intensive racing which will prepare us thoroughly for wadeva is ahead.for me the only thing left ahead is the interschool.on a sidenote: CONGRATS TO SOME OF MY SAILING BUDDIES(cannot say who) FOR GETTING INTO THE LASER NATIONAL TEAM! haha hope u all see these even though im gonna congrats u all tmr anyway. the kind of aura of being in the team is juz amazing. its like being at the top of ur game. wearing red and white to sail makes others tingle in their own boats u noe. if i say i dun take notice of the rankings im lying =X isnt it natural for sailors to be competitive? and yes im not gd enough to be in dat team yet. will nv be and ran out of time anyway. too bad... STOP! save emo-ing for emo post next time.and yes remember last post or something i mentioned carbo-load? yup for dis thingy lor. my teacher says u can only carbo-load for 1 day but heck lah wadeva can help me i will juz whack. i need everything i need to do wadeva i feel is best.
coach helped improve all the lasers de control lines systems tgt and gonna use it for the 1st time tmr. will definitely help im sure since it made alot of sense how he tied them up and the way he used them on land. recently oso changed quite a few stuff for the lasers here and there so should be in tip top racing conditions liao. if any fault from now should be tactical or technical not equips de.
k lah will stop about here. as usual will do my own review of the races in detail after the whole regatta which ends on sunday. tink i will sleep till dunno wad time on monday though =X time to get some rest and mental preparation to overcome the 12 races which may be in bad weather due to the recent fluctuations in weather patterns.
