- Training For Trainers -
well like i mentioned i recently went for a training camp in kota tinggi to learn how to be a camp instructor. haha for some of u who din noe i was quite fascinated in VS when i attended camps and i really had dis wild dream dat i could have a job like dis 1 day! well the day will arrive soon fortunately as i managed to contact dis senior whom i managed to work with for 3 days at HIHS with CK and austang. he gave me quite a few other contacts of other outdoor companies in singapore and dats where it all began.
called quite a few of them up and expressed my interest but seems they were not v interested =X coz some of them their peak period is year end which is almost over and some need training and all so cant take me in. anyway got dis company took me in and i went for training and their peak starts in jan so lucky me!
not gonna say the name of the company but if u in the outdoor industry u will noe when i say they are v established in kota tinggi with some certification dat only allows them up gunung panti ("mountain" in malaysia standing at 540m abv sea lvl, geog ppl dun start arguing with me =P) and all. dunno lah juz v big (in outdoor company terms) with alot of kayaks and great field of expertise. yes for the VS guys its the same mountain we climbed for LTC but they used a diff route so yeah. btw i heard there are dozens of ways up panti (how do they open up so many paths?) and the circumference of panti itself is larger than singapore!
so i met up with the other campers 8am at woodlands mrt on a friday morning! sian for some1 who stay in the east its torture to wake up so early on friday to crawl to somewhere on the other side of sg noe! oso, we were sent a list of participants and i was expecting a group of strangers goin to camp tgt but lo and behold 1 group of them all from another outdoor company de. i was like errr.... *crows fly past* best thing they noe the instructors for dis company too!
so i cant say everything in detail but i really really learn alot alot things during dis 3d2n camp. its short but v enriching! went to trek waterfalls, climb panti, experience night walk, have fun with low elements and other team building activities. oso learned basic medical protocol and procedure in case of injury or emergency and all there is to noe about being part of the company and wad its about! actually only about 2 day camp only coz the last day 2pm end liao den pack debrief and everything reach home about 6pm liddat.
remembered how we played with the freezing water at checkpoint 1 of the waterfalls and boy did we all get wet including our bags and everything. how about my socks which were all bloody after giving the leeches a nice meal during the climb up panti. my cuts and bruises which i earned during my falls in indiana jones (low elements activity). the meals which used the traditional chicken rice paper as ur "plate" and the aroma of bbq food which we could not touch (DAMMIT). yeah the place is a chalet-cum-campsite. forgot to mention dat. haha the instructors used the theory of heaven, earth and hell to describe the 3 places u could ever be in the campsite.
heaven was the chalet part of the whole place, earth was the campsite part of the place and hell was ironically outside of the entire place. noe y they used dis analogy? coz to link from heaven and earth we had to cross dis long suspension bridge! its damn shaky but damn safe i swear and lots of fun when u have idiots rocking the thing LOL. shyt nv take picture of it. ok will take and show u all next time damn fun and interesting.
o btw can see the panti from the campsite! and we saw the campsite from the "summit" of panti! so cool lah seeing the whole campsite from high above. oso i got some pictures but since the post already so long will post with the other pictures which i will take when i go back there again.
yup so now need to go for an attachment camp to see whether they wan me anot (which explains the term unofficial in my profile) and if im in den ill probably be leaving singapore alot from jan-mar. u mite tink dat "eh liddat ur frens all how?" nvm wad the guys either already went to hell... (army lah relax im not a vulgar boy) or are working also or slacking arnd. the girls probably would have found stuff to do b4 uni and the conclusion is probably not many ppl are meeting up? not sure leh but dats wad i feel is gonna happen. den again my camps are not back to back so see how lah.
ok i guess dats about wraps up wad i gotta say. so guys start physical training and girls err... start mugging again bah! if u wan noe more or are interested in running camps can come find me and ill try help u!
random: my drums sound like shyt after i try tuning for 2 whole days... i have no clue y...
