- Student Laser/Laser Trophy Review -
dis gonna be a damn long post. juz letting u noe lol.Results(Final):http://www.sailing.org.sg/events/regattas/07/lasertrophy/results_laser.pdfPhotos:http://www.sailing.org.sg/events/regattas/07/lasertrophy/photo.phpP.S. got kokjin, naiyu, andrew n ben ho, leonard n terrence , n MY photos! posted them n some others in the section ABOUT if u lazy to see all 1 by 1 in the link above. got other cool laser n 420 pictures but dat gotta see in the link urself =DStudent Laser: nothin much to write actually. 5 teams - ACSI, SP, VJC, MJC, TJC. final results 1st ACSI, 2nd SP, 3rd VJC, 4th MJC, 5th TJC. quite obvious we gonna get owned anyway. send in all the nat sailors see them 1st day only we noe GG liao. our match against TJC was the most exciting for us 5 though. coz its the only 1 we got chance to win n we did. haha. the match against VJC though i sparred with Kyne(VS Sailing Cap b4 me) the cool dude lol. most of the match we were like trying to outsail each other esp on downwind. but in the end he won. been a long time since i sailed with him like dis haha.
Laser Trophy(Day 1): strong wind(actually if sail byte not strong but coz i sail laser for me considered strong for me. kokjin even said it was light. can ask me bout kokjin's weight if u free lol) bout 12knots? ok dats contradicting. damn i sux today cant even flatten damn boat even though most of the time i was at full hike.
Laser Trophy(Day 2): today bad wind for 1st race n much better wind for me for second race.
if only wind all like race 5 den shiok liao lor. but den again still got 3 more days of sailing =.=. haha today saw a group of PADDLERS coming from changi adventure centre b4 start of 2nd race. WHO COULD IT BE? i wonder haha. i tink u my lucky charm noe. KAYAK only den wind die down den shiok for me. thks alot! =)Laser Trophy(Day 3): wads wrong with comm boat sia. today reach NSC wind so damn light. they put up AP flag(to delay start of races) den after awhile out at sea freakin big storm. den strong winds hit the shore. guess wad they brought down AP flag n we went out. i was like WTF. can only say bummer dude. my 1st race 1st upwind like training only lol. juz wanted to practice some my hiking n sail trim. 2nd race much lighter wind, but din do dat well as well.
need to do better leh. =XLaser Trophy(Day 4): NO RACES TODAY. lol wasted a whole day waiting/slacking at nsc. but learnt alot in card games like bridge n hearts aka black mother(name by kokjin =S). wind bout 3 knots the whole time. rox for me lah but race comm dun wan go out leh. haiz wad to do so light =.=. nvm lor today take a good rest den tmr pia all the way the races. i tink dis my longest 5 days of the whole june hols. wait a sec, go jc got a thing called hols de meh? lemme ponder over dat thought while i rest lah hor...
Laser Trophy(Day 5): today juz rox i tell u. even though starting b4 Race 10 like wan storm sia. so scared i tell u. damn lucky it blew past n den light wind. den abandon n restart Race 10 coz wind shifted alot. HENG like crap lah. my start was worse den crap. cant find a word for it. anyway got PICTURES OF ME LOL. nv seen myself sail b4 leh. finally got sia i damn happy. 1 when i sailing close haul another 1 in the middle of roll tack. hehe. =D anyway achieved my goal of top 20 dis regatta. but still not as happy lah. coz i seriously cannot even handle moderate wind properly. =X
i oso understand y i chose to remain in MJC liao. y i chose to go against other skools instead of joining them. y i wanted to continue sailing instead of goin poly n keep long hair(dats not the point, btw my hair seriously v long now =.=). y i wan to sail up to the starting line n compete with the best in Singapore(probably the best in SouthEast Asia). y i wan to learn how to be a downwind imba n zoom past ppl. im glad i made the rite choice. =)
anyway overall we gotta set ourselves targets. i tink we all noe how to compete against dis yr. shant say it here. esp me my hiking stamina need to train alot leh. cant compete if i cant even hike long enuf. den ppl win me juz becoz they can hike longer or r heavier den me. cant stand it i tell u. so last 2 weeks will have 3 more trainings den break b4 interschool n mid yrs. lets put our all into dis last 3 trainings den. jiayou!
